Editorial Policy: How JobCost Writes and Reviews Content

Our editorial standards

JobCost publishes educational content about job costing, construction accounting, and the software that supports it. Every page follows the same rules, whether it is a free calculator, a product page, or a guide.

Accuracy first

Every number on this site comes from one of three places: the calculators themselves, official sources we link to, or clearly labeled illustrative examples. We never invent statistics, tax rates, or industry figures. Where a figure is an estimate or common practice rather than a verified fact, we say so in the text.

Review process

Each article is written by our editorial team and reviewed by a construction cost accountant and a project manager before publication. Reviews check factual grounding, formulas, internal links, and readability. Content is re-reviewed when laws, practices, or our product change.

Disclosure

JobCost sells job costing software. Our educational pages may recommend features and approaches that our software provides. We do not claim that our software is the only option, and we describe competitors' general capabilities honestly. Testimonials on this site are labeled as composite scenarios drawn from common customer experiences unless a real, permissioned testimonial is displayed.

Corrections

If you find an error, contact us through the contact page and we will fix it. Material errors are corrected in the article and noted in the last-reviewed date at the bottom of the page. We update the last-reviewed date whenever content changes.

What we do not do

  • We do not publish unverified statistics or fabricated testimonials.
  • We do not accept payment in exchange for positive coverage of any product, including our own.
  • We do not write content designed to deceive search engines or readers.
